Sunday Helper - Resizing your pics

Are you looking for an easy and fast way to resize your pics and LOs? Well, stay tuned, here is your solution: Just use nSonic JPG-Compressor. It's a wonderful little free tool you can download here. Just scroll down to the end of the page and click the download link, unzip it to your harddrive and start the program by clicking the exe-button. There is no installation needed. The downloaded program contains two languages, German and English (but there are more available for download). You can easily switch between languages with the button on the right top edge.

Now lets start, just drag and drop your files, your want to resize:

Now you can start adjusting all settings as it fits for you. First change height and width of your pic or layout. You can leave on of those points blank if wanted, to keep proportion. If needed, you can also sharpen your image. Another useful option is the reduce quality function. Some galleries out there in digi-word only allow specific image sizes so you can limit the file size. If wanted, you are also able to add a frame or some text, just as wished.

Now click on the convert all button on the top (if you added more than one file, all files will be converted with the same parameters). A new window just opens and you have to choose, in which way you want to name your file. Just use the way you are most comfort with. After all clickt the start convertion button.

JPG Converter now rezises all your pics and saves them on your harddrive. After success, you'll get a little message:

That's it, now you're fnished! Hope you like this little tool as much as I do. For further examples just have a look on JPG converter's homepage.

See you soon!

Haunted and Fabric Shop

I have such fun releases this week! I am so excited about both. I just adore fall. I love the colors, smells, cool southern breeze. Everything about it just makes me feel cozy and comfortable. Well, this weeks releases have everything to do with Autumn. You can find it all in my shop.

First is a CU collab I created with Happy Scrap Girl. It is called Fabric Shop and it is a bundle of 10 different Funky Fabrics for you to use in any Kits, Layouts or Digital Scrapbook projects. We included the colored and desaturated versions. There is felt, sweater, jean, microfiber and some other fun fabric textures. You can clip these to frames or shapes or even use them for background texture. They are for commercial or personal use. Plus, they are 20% off this week only. If you buy the bundle, you save even more! Now that is a deal!

I also have a freebie for you!

Next is my new Halloween kit. I wanted to make a kit that was creepy and spooky, but not gory or gruesome. So I came up with Haunted. It is 20% off this week only. And you if buy the bundle, you save even more.

Layout Highlights

Hi there, this is my first post as one of Dream Big Designs new blog girl and I'm so very excited. It's such a great honor to post on a blog which is read by so many people - WOW!

But OK, back to business *lol* it's thursday and so it's time for our layout highlights. There are so many wonderful layouts in the Dream Big Designs Gallery and it's so hard to only choose 2 layouts for highlighting.

This weeks first layout especially cought my eye because of the wonderful shark pics. Aren't this fantastic animals? Navaja77 created this wonderful page named "Sharks" with DBD's In The Deep Bundle. I really love the arrangement and how she used only a few elements for highlighting those great pics:

The second page caught my eye was called Pool Party by Carolina Scrapper. I really love, love, love the kit she used (Splash Zone) but I even love the look and feel of her page also. Especially the cut out pics are such a wonderful idea:

Thanks for sharing these wonderful pages with us and I hope you all enjoyed these litlle highlights as much as I did!

Sunday Helper - Store up before dissaster strikes

This has been the topic of a lot of conversation lately. Hard drives crashing, all your information lost.... Online storage sites like icloud and Backblaze are becoming more and more important. The question is really not if your hard drive will go out, be WHEN. So, do you have everything backed up? Are you sure? I hear all the time of my digi friends and customers who lost all their photos and scrap supplies because of a HD crash. I feel so aweful for them, but I ask.... why wasn't it backed up?
I have a large 2TB computer and a 1TB external hard drive. I have everything on my computer and then my important files (photos, scrap kits, scanned docs, music, movies) all copied onto my EHD. But I kept thinking about what if there was a flood or fire? Everything would be lost. I needed to find an affordable way to store my computer online.

I did some research on what sites were out there along with the prices. I found 2 sites that I was interested in, Backblaze and Crashplan. So, which was better? Well, both cost about the same (only about $3-5 a month!) and both have unlimited storage. The only difference is how they are set up and back up your information.
Backblaze pretty much backs up your whole computer minus your OS and programs. Where Crashplan will backup everything if you need it, but you can be more picky about what you do and do not want backed up.
So, for me I like things simple and if something is on my computer, it is important. I go through and trash things pretty frequently, so I just want my whole system backed up. I went with Backblaze and for the moment I am pretty happy at how easy it was to use and how I now feel a LOT better about my system crashing.
Are you prepared for the worst?

Layout Highlights

Happy Tuesday morning!  How is your day going so far?  Are you feeling bright and cheery today or needing more coffee to perk you up?  Since it's Tuesday, I can share a little bit of layout inspiration to perk you up.  Browsing through the Dream Big Designs Gallery is always a great smile booster!

Both layouts today caught me eye because of the large gorgeous photos as the single point of focus as well as the circular shapes.  Our first layout is called Camp Geeve by tpbuffy using 'Cabin Critters' and 'Forest Friends'.  Just look at that gorgeous mountain scenery!  How breathtaking!  I love the circle photo and the beautiful striped paper on the side acting as a border.  The tree elements are adorable and check out that cute little fox.

This second layout is just spectacular called Aidan's First Beach by McBDesigns using 'Hawaii Honu'.  What a precious photo.  The picture alone is a winner all by itself, but then she's decorated this page so beautifully with all the elements tucked under the photo paper mats.  It truly is a gorgeous page.

Thank you ladies for sharing your gorgeous inspiration with us this morning.  If you're in need of more smile therapy, you can browse through all of the Dream Big Designs gallery for plenty of inspiration, motivation, oohs and ahhs, giggles and smiles.  Have a great week!
